We call it the "Park of the swamp", and not the City of Paduli or Industrial Zone Paduli or Paduli Village, we were called the "Park" and we did inconsciamente, ispirati solo dal Genius Loci , dallo spirito intrinseco ed atavico di quel luogo! Ed è per questo che è giusto lavorare, lottare, per il “Parco dei Paduli”!
Ovviamente un parco “umano”, perché nasce dall’uomo, rinasce grazie all’uomo, ed è legato indissolubilmente alla storia ed alla cultura dell’uomo, dell’uomo pugliese, dell’uomo salentino; un Parco a dimensione d’uomo, per il bene e per il futuro dell’uomo!
I Paduli sono il cuore naturale del Salento, la sua parte più bella ed amena, uno scrigno che la natura ha preservato da qualsiasi urbanizzazione, e in cui si è ritirata e risiede the soul of Salento same-natural!

Project Rebirth of the Forest Paduli takes shape by decades of studies that I have done in that area and that is continually enriched by new discoveries, new stunning revelations that reveal a past paradise, a place where they alternated multiple landscapes, Mediterranean from the steppe, the garrigue and maquis, the bush, to the pine forest, the mixed forest, the chestnut trees, forests xerophilous plants typical of dry and arid climates, soils of red earth, " Tustin " , to the woods hygrophilous plant enthusiasts, on the grounds of " padula , and river banks along the canals, forests typical of river and marsh areas, now almost completely unknown, in Salento, and which still can be admired in Paduli precious relicts, leading then to forests and biological diversity in appearance almost foothills, on the mountains of Serre, all of which made can be varied by the exceptional characteristics of the soil, geo-morphological, hydrological and climatic requirements of the Paduli and the center of Salento!
A rediscovery of wild plants and animal species is still there looking at the Vegetative and living, is deepening the knowledge of those disappeared by man, such as hornbeam, red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, wild boar, etc..
Una serie di conoscenze sui Paduli, che ho voluto divulgare attraverso la realizzazione di un DVD con foto, testi e musiche, da proiettare nelle occasioni pubbliche, per mostrare le bellezze paesaggistiche, illustrare la incredibile biodiversità di oggi e di un tempo del Bosco Belvedere, e sottolineare alcune aree di altissimo interesse ecologico nelle aree del Parco dei Paduli bisognose della massima ed immediata protezione.
Ma la conoscenza del passato, è anche presa di coscienza, mea culpa per gli errori commessi dall’uomo, dai nostri avi, che disboscarono selvaggiamente, senza prevedere un equilibrio tra natura, agricoltura e pastorizia, accecati dalla fame di nuove terre da coltivare, quelle importantissime Salento woods, forests, sources of food and immense material resources, and benefits for the local microclimate and the structure of the system of surface water and holding soil! I Paduli che risorgeranno per diventare ancora più belli di quelli che erano, grazie alla consapevolezza e alla maggiore cultura, conoscenza e disponibilità tecnica delle nuove generazioni; strumenti che devono tradursi in saggezza nell’uomo contemporaneo ed in noi giovani, che amiamo la nostra Terra e ci impegniamo per tutelarla e migliorarla!
Intorno a quest’idea-progettuale have formed a working group under the name of the original group "The Great Patriarchs - The Rebirth of the swamp", built in the days of summer workshop on the theme of the Park of Paduli, organized by the LUA (Urban Open Laboratory) in months July-August 2008, San Cassiano (Lecce). In order to better pursue this project I founded in the fall of 2008, the Association "The Rebirth of the Wood Belvedere" an open, so it can join all those who, like me, are animated by the same conviction that man can and must correct its errors, and restore and bring back to be the most beautiful of all possible worlds, our beloved Mother Earth,

Conclusions
The beauty of the nature of those lands did not leave indifferent the nobles and the principles that made this pleasant place in hunting, protecting, paradoxically, from the ax and hoe, or the many scholars who examined him, and perhaps even the hearts of those commoners who compelled by hunger, in the end, senseless, almost totally destroyed it, if it is true, whatever its origin of the name, they called that their forest "Belvedere", beautiful to see, to contemplate.
